HC Deb 12 May 1930 vol 238 c1469W
Captain EDEN

asked the First Commissioner of Works whether, seeing that His Majesty's Government own property in the Rue d'Anjou, Paris, and that this property is only partially used, he will say why this property is not converted into office premises, since such premises are at present being hired elsewhere in Paris?

Mr. LANSBURY

The property in question is used as the Embassy garage. As its conversion into offices, with a view to surrendering leased accommodation elsewhere, would require considerable capital expenditure, there is no financial advantage in the proposal.
