HC Deb 14 November 1929 vol 231 c2244W
Major POLE

asked the First Com-missioner of Works whether he has taken any skilled advice as to the removal of the partition in the Members' dining room; if not, whether he will ask his responsible officials to prepare an estimate as to the cost of such removal; and whether he will consult the Fine Arts Commission as to whether the removal of the structure would injure the architectural qualities of the room?

Mr. LANSBURY

I have received a report from my technical advisers but no detailed scheme and estimate has been prepared. If there is a general demand that an estimate should be prepared, or the Fine Art Commission consulted, representations should be made through the usual channels.
