HC Deb 07 November 1929 vol 231 c1261W
Dr. HASTINGS

asked the Minister of Health if he can give the number of deaths from tuberculosis of other organs than the lung that occurred in 1928; and if any estimate has been made of the number of these deaths that resulted from infection by tuberculous milk?

Mr. GREENWOOD

Of the registered deaths in England and Wales in 1928 classified to tuberculosis, 6,824 were assigned to forms of the disease other than pulmonary tuberculosis. I am advised that there is no information avail able on which to base any reliable estimate of the number of these deaths which were due to infection by tuberculous milk.
