HC Deb 04 November 1929 vol 231 c641W
Mr. MILLS

asked the First Commissoner of Works if a contribution has been given by the treasurer of the National Playing Fields Association for the purpose of laying out the old exhibition ground in Hyde Park for the playing of games; and, if so, can he state when the work will commence?

Mr. LANSBURY

A gift of £5,000 for this purpose has been received from Sir Howard Frank through the National Playing Fields Association. I regret that I am not yet in a position to enter into particulars of the arrangements beyond saying that it is hoped to make part of the ground available for football at an early date.
