§ Mr. LANSBURYasked the Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been called to the fact that Ernest Victor Gallagher, 17 years of age, offered himself for enlistment in the Army at the drill hall, 5th battalion Sherwood Foresters, Beckett's Well Lane, Derby, on 26th January, and was accepted as a recruit on 28th January, notwithstanding the fact that between 26th and 28th January the boy's father telegraphed to the responsible officer pointing out that the boy was under age, and informing this officer that he objected to the boy's enlistment; and will he lake the necessary steps for releasing the boy?
