HC Deb 21 June 1928 vol 218 cc1770-1W
Mr. LANSBURY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether the Government propose to take any action in regard to the allegations made by Professor Indra, who was recently released from the gaol at Ferozpur, Punjab, against certain of the gaol authorities?

Earl WINTERTON

My Noble Friend has no information on the subject.

Mr. LANSBURY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether his attention has been drawn to the refusal of the authorities of the central gaol at Yeravada, Bombay Presidency, to grant permission to Subhas Chandra Bose to visit certain detenus detained in gaol; and the reason for this prohibition?

Earl WINTERTON

I have no information on this point, but obviously the visitors of these persons must be subject to censorship, and presumably the authorities considered that a meeting between these particular persons was undesirable.
