HC Deb 12 December 1928 vol 223 c2141W
Colonel WEDGWOOD

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether any arrangement has yet been come to with the French Government as to our joint guarantee and joint liability for the interest on the 1855 Turkish loan; and, if not, whether we are still paying all the interest involved?

Mr. SAMUEL

No arrangement has yet been come to with the French Government in regard to their liability as co-guarantor of the interest on the 1855 Guaranteed Ottoman Loan; accordingly, the whole of the amounts required to make good the sums due by Egypt, but unpaid, are being advanced by this country.
