§ Captain MARGESSONI have been asked to reply to this question. The system of commuted tithes is still in an experimental stage. During the past two years it has been extended to a large number of areas and sub-districts selected by the High Commissioner in the exercise of his powers under the law. I am unable to say whether those areas and sub-districts include all the Jewish Colonies.
