HC Deb 11 April 1928 vol 162 cc1228-9W
Lieut. - Colonel MOORE-BRABAZON

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether his attention has been called to the two accidents at Shotwick on 21st March and 28th March: whether both the machines involved were re-conditioned war machines: and whether, in view of the risks involved in flying these machines, he is contemplating taking any steps in the matter?

Sir S. HOARE

I assume that my hon. and gallant. Friend is referring to the accidents that occurred on the 20th and 204.1 March. The cause of the first accident had no connection with the condition of the aeroplane; that of the second is still under investigation. In neither ease was the aeroplane either reconditioned or of pre-Armistice date, and consequently the last part of the question does not arise.
