HC Deb 17 February 1927 vol 202 c1128W
Mr. T. HENDERSON

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Scotland whether his attention has been drawn to the destruction of two Weir steel houses by fire at Bo'ness on Saturday, 12th February, and the failure of the asbestos partition walls to stop the flames spreading from one house to the next; and whether he will have inquiry made into all the circumstances with a view, if necessary, of issuing Regulations for the safeguarding of the lives and effects of tenants of steel houses?

Major ELLIOT

My attention has been drawn to the outbreak of fire referred to by the hon. Member. I am having inquiry made into the circumstances, and have called for special reports. On receipt of these, I shall give the matter my careful consideration.
