asked the Under-Secretary of State for India what action has been taken by the Indian Government in order to study the possibility of improving the lac output?

The Indian Lac Association for Research is financed by the proceeds of a small duty on exports of lac. The association has opened a research institute, with laboratories near Ranchi, and has laid out experimental plantations.

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India the amount of stick lac exported from Burma during the year preceding the last convenient date, the value of such stick lac, and the country to which it was exported?

The quantity stick lac exported from Burma to countries outside India during the year ended 31st March, 1925, was 744 cwts., valued at Rs.53,027, all of which went to the United States of America. Exports from Burma to other parts of India of lac, chiefly stick lac, during the same year amounted to 59,668 cwts , valued at Rs.37,92,000.
