HC Deb 02 December 1926 vol 200 c1383W
Mr. HORE-BELISHA

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether the Navy, Army, and Air Force Institutes Patients' Canteen, Royal Naval Hospital, Plymouth, has a canteen committee; and, if so, what is the procedure adopted for its election?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

The Navy, Army and Air Force Institute's Canteen at Royal Naval Hospital, Plymouth, is a combined one for sick berth staff and for patients. There is no separate canteen for patients, but the rebate on their purchases is kept distinct from that of the sick berth staff fund and forms the patients' canteen fund. The canteen has a canteen committee, with the Surgeon Rear-Admiral as president, and the members of this committee are elected by the sick berth staff.
