HC Deb 14 April 1913 vol 51 cc1652-3W
Mr. CROFT

asked the Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been called to the fact that, by an order of the dress committee of the War Office, the Volunteer officer's decoration is to be worn after such medals as the Native Indian long-service medal and the police medal; and whether the Territorial decoration is to rank after the efficiency medal and after the medal for good shooting in the Navy?

Colonel SEELY

The rules governing the order in which orders, decorations and medals are to be worn are laid down in regulations of which I will send the hon. Gentleman particulars.

Mr. CROFT

asked the Secretary of State for War whether the Volunteer officer's decoration was made an order of chivalry by King Edward VII., and ranks after the Order of St. John of Jerusalem in England; and whether the Territorial decoration is also an order of chivalry, and intended to rank as such?

Colonel SEELY

Neither the Volunteer officer's decoration nor the Territorial decoration are orders.
