Deb 30 July 1931 vol 81 cc1309-10

Order of the Day read for the consideration of Commons Amendments.

THE EARL OF MALMESBURY

My Lords, on behalf of Lord Strachie I beg to move that the Commons Amendments to this Bill be now considered. In doing so I would like, first of all, to say that the County Councils' Association accept the Amendments, which are very important drafting Amendments, and secondly, to express to the Government the thanks of the Association for accelerating this Bill, which is many years overdue and is absolutely necessary for efficient administration.

Moved, That the Commons Amendments be now considered.—(The Earl of Malmesbury.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
