HL Deb 19 July 1988 vol 499 cc1216-7

50 Schedule 6, page 46, line 3, at end insert—

'1967 c. 80. The Criminal Justice Act Section 90.' 1967.

The Lord Chancellor

My Lords, this is a technical amendment. Section 90 of the Criminal Justice Act 1967 contains a penalty for the wrongful provision of information about means in connection with an application for criminal legal aid. That is now redundant in view of Clause 39(1) of the Bill which provides such a penalty covering all types of legal aid and thus needs to be repealed. I beg to move.

Moved, That the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 50.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
