My Lords, I have to report to your Lordships that, in accordance with the Order of Thursday last, the most reverend Primate the Lord Archbishop of York, the noble Baroness the Lord Privy Seal, the Lord Byers, the Baroness Hylton-Foster and the Lord Cledwyn of Penrhos and I waited upon Her Majesty the Queen this morning at Buckingham Palace and presented your Lordships' Address of congratulation on the birth of a son to Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales.

Her Majesty was graciously pleased to make the following reply signed by Her own hand:—

"I thank you most sincerely for your loyal and dutiful Address on the occasion of the birth of my grandson.

"The Duke of Edinburgh and I are greatly touched by the good wishes that you have expressed towards my family."
