HL Deb 06 December 1979 vol 403 c886
The LORD ADVOCATE (Lord Mackay of Clashfern)

My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill be now read a second time. It is a consolidation measure consolidating a number of enactments relating to slaughterhouses, knacker's yards and the slaughter of animals in Scotland. It is purely consolidation and is intended to make no change in the existing law. If this Bill is approved by your Lordships, it will be referred to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills which will consider it and make its report to the House in due course. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a. —(Lord Mackay of Clashfern.)

On Question, Bill read 2a and referred to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.
