HL Deb 18 February 1969 vol 299 cc811-2

LORD BROCKWAY had given notice of his intention to ask Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will make a statement of their further intentions in seeking to bring together the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Biafran administration with a view to establishing a cease-fire, an international peace-keeping force, political negotiations for a settlement and massive relief of starvation.

The noble Lord said: My Lords, with the concurrence of those who had put down their names to speak on the Unstirred Question, including the Government spokesman, I ask leave of the House to postpone the Question until Thursday, in view of the late hour, the depleted attendance and the importance of the subject. I hope I may have that leave.
