HL Deb 18 February 1969 vol 299 c814

THE EARL OF HARROWBY asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will put details the late-night telegram service in telephone directories, since nearly all such telegrams are dictated over the telephone and since inquiries as to time, cost, number of words, delivery and so on, which at present must take place over the telephone, tend unnecessarily to congest the line and cause serious inconvenience, especially late at night.

LORD BOWLES

My Lords, my right honourable friend the Postmaster General is already arranging for a supplement to be issued with all telephone directories giving information about the wide range of telecommunications services available. Information about the late-night telegram services will be included in this.

House adjourned at twelve minutes before nine o'clock.
