HL Deb 25 July 1967 vol 285 cc691-2

Read 3a, with the Amendments.

THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES

(THE EARL OF LISTOWEL): My Lords, I am asking the House to agree to the Motion which stands in my name on the Order Paper, in order that I can move an Amendment to the Bill. I beg to move.

Moved, that Standing Order 148 be considered in order to its being dispensed with to allow an Amendment to be proposed to the said Bill.—(The Earl of Listowel.)

THE EARL OF LISTOWEL

My Lords, I beg to move the following Amendment to the Bill: Clause 46, page 33, line 27 at end insert: or (m) to the tipping or depositing of spoil or refuse by the Central Electricity Generating Board or the Eastern Electricity Board on operational land of those Boards. The purpose of this Amendment is to exempt these two Electricity Boards—the Central Electricity Generating Board and the Eastern Electricity Board—from the provisions of Clause 46, which prohibit the depositing of refuse without the consent of the local authorities. I beg to move.

Amendment moved— Clause 46, page 33, line 27, at end insert— ("or (m) to the tipping or depositing of spoil or refuse by the Central Electricity Generating Board or the Eastern Electricity Board on operational land of those Boards.")—(The Earl of Listowel.)

On Question, Amendment agreed to.

Bill passed, and returned to the Commons.
