HL Deb 04 December 1967 vol 287 c367
LORD NUGENT OF GUILDFORD

My Lords, I beg leave to ask a Question of which I have already given Private Notice. The Question is:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what effect the "work to rule" by members of the Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen has had on the services provided by British Railways and what plans they have to minimise the hardship and inconvenience which passengers and industry will experience as a result of this dispute.

LORD BESWICK

My Lords, my noble friend Lord Shepherd will answer this Question in the form of a Statement at a convenient moment after 3.30 p.m. My noble friend Lord Shackleton will then make a Statement on the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons. It may be for the convenience of the House if I inform your Lordships that it is intended to adjourn the Committee stage of the Consumer Protection Bill for one hour this evening, from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., when a buffet dinner will be available in the Dining Room.
