Clause 54, page 40, line 44, leave out from ("by") to end of line 47 and insert ("any member to whom the building society sends notice of a resolution to be moved at a meeting of the building society for the union or, as the case may be, the transfer of engagements to which the statement relates not later than he receives that notice")

Page 41, line 8, leave out subsection (4) and insert— ("(4) Where for the purposes of the said section five of the Act of 1940 the building society applies to all or any of the members of the building society to obtain their consent to the proposals, the statement shall, without prejudice to the provisions of subsection (2) of this section, be sent so as to be received by a member at or before the time when the application is made to him.")
