HL Deb 29 July 1959 vol 218 c748
LORD MILVERTON

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government why the Secretary of State for the Colonies has not sufficient information about pensions increases to Colonial Civil Servants retired from the services of the Governments of Bermuda and Malta to be able to compare these with those payable under the Pensions (Increase) Act of 1959.]

THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR COLONIAL AFFAIRS (THE EARL OF PERTH)

My Lords, few of the pensioners are resident in this country. No representations have been received about their pension increase, and until very recently there has been no occasion to obtain the information. This, however, is now being sought.

LORD MILVERTON

My Lords, I thank the noble Earl for his reply.
