HL Deb 27 July 1959 vol 218 cc542-3
THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR COMMONWEALTH RELATIONS (THE EARL OF HOME)

My Lords, I beg to move the Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper. The House will remember that there was some inconvenience caused because Starred Questions a week or so ago came after a very long debate on a private Motion. This is the recommendation of the Procedure Committee that Starred Questions should go in front of other Business on the Paper.

Moved, That the Roll of the Standing Orders be amended as, follows:—

Standing Order No. 35, leave out provisoes (1) and (2) and insert—

("(1) Starred questions shall be entered before Private Business;

(2) Notices and Orders relating to Private Business shall be entered before Public Business.")—(The Earl of Home.)

On Question, Motion agreed to: the said Standing Order amended accordingly.
