THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR COMMONWEALTH RELATIONS (THE EARL OF HOME)My Lords, I beg to move the Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper. The House will remember that there was some inconvenience caused because Starred Questions a week or so ago came after a very long debate on a private Motion. This is the recommendation of the Procedure Committee that Starred Questions should go in front of other Business on the Paper.
§ Moved, That the Roll of the Standing Orders be amended as, follows:—
§ Standing Order No. 35, leave out provisoes (1) and (2) and insert—
§ ("(1) Starred questions shall be entered before Private Business;
§ (2) Notices and Orders relating to Private Business shall be entered before Public Business.")—(The Earl of Home.)
§ On Question, Motion agreed to: the said Standing Order amended accordingly.
