HL Deb 23 July 1959 vol 218 c453

3.31 p.m.

EARL ST. ALDWYN

My Lords, I have to inform the House that there will be a Statement, as well as the one by the Lord President, by my noble friend Lord Perth.

THE EARL OF HOME

My Lords, the explanation of these two Motions in my name on the Order Paper is, very shortly, that Business is becoming congested, and in order to allow another place to consider certain matters concerning Africa, which will be coming forward in the next few days, my noble friend Lord Swinton has kindly agreed to move his Motion on the Free Trade Area to Tuesday, so as to leave Wednesday free to debate the Central African matter. These two Motions really relate to those arrangements. The noble Lord, Lord Winster, has kindly postponed his Motion until late on Tuesday, so as to enable Lord Swinton's Motion to come first. I beg to move.

Moved, That on Tuesday next, Starred Questions be not taken earlier than half-past Two o'clock.

That leave be given to advance the Motion standing in the name of the Earl of Swinton from Wednesday next to Tuesday next.—(The Earl of Home.)

On Question, Motions agreed to, and ordered accordingly.
