My Lords, I beg to ask the first Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they have considered the possibility of increased facilities for university exploration parties, thereby fostering the spirit of adventure in students and providing valuable field data and training.]

My Lords, it is the Government's view that the organisation of these parties should be left to voluntary effort.
