HL Deb 28 October 1954 vol 189 cc807-8

3.18 p.m.

THE EARL OF MUNSTER

My Lords, the second Motion which stands in my name will perhaps require even shorter explanation than the last. The draft scheme which I now present stems from Section 1 of the Industrial Diseases Act, 1954, for uncompensated cases of certain other diseases. If your Lordships will look at the First Schedule to the scheme you will there find described the diseases which are to be covered by this Order. I think the only other reference I need make to the Order is to point out that this particular scheme provides for the payment of benefit at the same rates as are laid down in the previous scheme which the House has just approved. Accordingly, with those few words I beg to move the Motion which stands in my name.

Moved, That the Industrial Diseases (Miscellaneous) Benefit Draft Scheme, 1954, be approved.—(The Earl of Munster.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
