§ THE LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL (THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY)My Lords, I hope your Lordships will forgive me if I interrupt the debate for a few moments, but I feel that the House will wish to hear as soon as possible an announcement with regard to the Business of Parliament which is also being made in another place. It seems likely that the consideration of outstanding Government Business before both Houses and debates on foreign affairs and other subjects will occupy our attention for five weeks or so. It is expected that Prorogation will take place during the week beginning Monday, November 22, and that the New Session will be opened by Her Majesty The Queen on Tuesday, November 30.
