HL Deb 22 November 1954 vol 189 c1734

After Clause 27, insert the following new clause:

Expenses

(".There shall be defrayed out of moneys provided by Parliament—

  1. (a) any expenses incurred by any Minister of the Crown or Government department in consequence of the provisions of this Act; and
  2. (b) any increase attributable to this Act in the moneys to be so provided under Part of the Local Government Act, 1948, or the Local Government (Financial Provisions) (Scotland) Act, 1954.")

VISCOUNT WOOLTON

My Lords, this is a privilege Amendment. The clause provides for the payment out of Exchequer Funds of expenses incurred by the Crown and increases in payments to local authorities incurred as the result of this Bill. The necessary Money Resolution was passed on July 23. It is not possible to make an accurate estimate of the sum involved, but it is of no considerable dimension. I beg to move that the House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Viscount Woolton.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
