§ To ask Her Majesty's Government when it is intended to make a statement on the duty-free import of machinery of dollar origin.]
§ LORD MANCROFTMy Lords, the whole question of the duty-free importation of machinery has been examined by an independent committee under the chairmanship of Sir Henry Wilson Smith, whose report was published last Thursday, and Her Majesty's Government propose to make a statement on this subject before Parliament rises for the Summer Recess.
