Clause 5, page 6, line 2, leave out ("March") and insert ("January").

My Lords, this Amendment is necessary because at the time the Bill was drafted we thought that no local authority would have passed a resolution earlier than March of this year, but recently it came to light that in point of fact a local authority had passed a resolution in February. Unless this Amendment is made, the owners of slaughterhouses will be deprived of their ability to claim compensation. I beg to move that this House do agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.
