§ LORD CARRINGTONMy Lords, this Amendment is necessary because at the time the Bill was drafted we thought that no local authority would have passed a resolution earlier than March of this year, but recently it came to light that in point of fact a local authority had passed a resolution in February. Unless this Amendment is made, the owners of slaughterhouses will be deprived of their 428 ability to claim compensation. I beg to move that this House do agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.
