Clause 18, page 13, line 44, at end insert—
("(2) Any slaughterhouse provided by a local authority under any enactment repealed by this Act, and in use as a slaughterhouse on the twenty-ninth day of June, nineteen hundred and fifty-four, shall be deemed to be a public slaughterhouse provided by that local authority under this Act and the provisions thereof shall apply accordingly.")
§ LORD CARRINGTONMy Lords, this Amendment is designed to make it clear that a public slaughterhouse in operation during the control period could remain in operation without formality. I beg to move that this House do agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.
