HL Deb 17 June 1931 vol 81 cc233-4
THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF ONSLOW)

My Lords, I beg to move that the noble Earl, Lord Donoughmore, be added to the Select Committee on the Erection of the Peers' War Memorial. Lord Donoughmore has been Chairman ex officio, as Chairman of Committees, of this Committee ever since its commencement, and I think it would be of the greatest value to the Committee if we were to continue to have his services as a member in his private capacity. He ceased to be a member for a short time when he went to Ceylon and Lord Kintore acted as Chairman of Committees. Lord Kintore was added to the Committee in the same way as I am now proposing that Lord Donoughmore should be added. There is an additional reason for pro- posing this. Lord Donoughmore is trustee of the Fund in conjunction with Mr. Clay, the Librarian of your Lordships' House. He is willing to continue his services, and I hope your Lordships will agree to this Motion.
