HL Deb 01 August 1928 vol 71 cc1542-3

Amendments reported (according to Order). Then, Standing Order No. XXXIX having been suspended:

LORD HAMILTON OF DALZELL

My Lords, I beg to move that the Bill be now read a third time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 3a.—(Lord Hamilton of Dalzell.)

THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

My Lords, my noble friend is quite within his rights to move the Third Reading because Standing Order No. XXXIX has been suspended. I see no real objection to his doing so. I do not think it is necessary, but if he wishes to do so we will not oppose him.

LORD HAMILTON OF DALZELL

In view of the noble Marquess's permission I will ask the House to read the Bill a third time.

On Question, Bill read 3a, with the Amendments, and passed, and returned to the Commons.
