HL Deb 07 August 1924 vol 59 cc501-2
THE LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL (LORD PARMOOR)

My Lords, I beg to move, That Standing Order No. XXXIX be considered in order to its being suspended for this day's sitting. The only matter in respect of which this Motion is now necessary is the Appropriation Bill. Your Lordships will have been glad to hear that, so far as the Agricultural Wages Bill is concerned, the Amendments which were put in by your Lordships have been agreed to.

Moved, That Standing Order No. XXXIX be considered in order to its being suspended for this day's sitting.— (Lord Parmoor.)

THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

Is it certain that the Appropriation Bill will reach your Lordships to-day? I understand that it did not receive its Third Reading in the other place last night.

LORD PARMOOR

I do not know whether there is any certainty, but that is the best information that I can give. Perhaps I shall be able to give more precise information a little later.

On Question, Motion agreed to, and ordered accordingly.
