HL Deb 11 July 1922 vol 51 cc326-7

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

THE EARL OF CLARENDON

My Lords, in moving the Second Reading of this Bill I need not, I think, take up more than a few moments of your time, for unlike a certain number of measures laid before your Lordships recently, this Bill contains only two clauses and two schedules. The Bill is one to confirm a scheme made under Section 60 of the Charitable Trusts Act, 1853. It is purely a local Bill, dealing with the Dewsbury endowed schools. The whole purport of the scheme is contained in the schedule of the Bill which appears on pages 2 to 6, and its purpose is to enable the education authority to carry on the foundation. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Earl of Clarendon.)

On Question, Bill read 2a, and committed.
