HL Deb 06 July 1922 vol 51 cc301-2

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

LORD SOUTHWARK

My Lords, this Bill has passed through a Grand Committee of the House of Commons and it was read a third time without opposition. It is, I believe, a thoroughly non-contentious measure, and has the support of His Majesty's Government. I will not, therefore, trouble your Lordships with any further remarks, but will merely move that the Bill be now read a second time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(Lord Southwark.)

THE EARL OF ONSLOW

My Lords, I need only say that the promoters of this Bill were in communication with the Ministry of Health last year, and that no objection is offered to their proposal.

On Question, Bill read 2a, and committed to a Committee of the Whole House.
