Order of the Day read for the consideration of the Third Report from the Select Committee.

The Committee reported inter alia

REFRESHMENT COMMITTEE.

The Duke of Rutland, on behalf of the Sub-Committee appointed on the 26th of February, 1920, made a short statement with regard to the new catering arrangements which have been made for the House of Lords. The Committee approved the new arrangements and resolved, on the recommendation of the Chairman of Committees, that the following Lords, with the Clerk of the Parliaments, be appointed a Sub-Committee to consider all matters concerning the Refreshment Department of the House of Lords, viz.:—The Marquess of Lincolnshire, Lord Lambourne, and Lord Muir Mackenzie.

The Committee to appoint their own Chairman.

WAR BONUS.

The Clerk of the Parliaments informed the Committee of the new War Bonus sanctioned by the Treasury for the Civil Service (Treasury Letter 21284/20 of the 14th of May, 1920), and the Committee approved its application to the House of Lords staff.

The Committee recommend that the payments made to the Clerks in the Parliament Office for calendaring and indexing the Historical MSS. of the House of Lords and for indexing Reports from Select Committees be assessed for War Bonus.
