THE LORD STEWARD OF THE HOUSEHOLD (VISCOUNT FARQUHAR) read the following Message from the King—
I return you my most sincere thanks for your loyal and dutiful Address. The Queen and I have been deeply touched by the many manifestations of loyalty and affection which have reached us on the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of our wedding, and we are much gratified by the warmth of feeling with which you associate yourselves with them.
