HL Deb 12 April 1886 vol 304 cc1291-2

House in Committee (according to Order.)

THE EARL OF WEMYSS

asked, whether the Bill would put the law with regard to sporting rating in the same position in Scotland as that which existed in England?

THE EARL OF ELGIN

, in reply, said, that he did not profess to be an authority upon the subject; but he had made inquiries with regard to this before moving the second reading, and he understood that in England sporting lands were rated whether they were let or not.

An Amendment made; the Report thereof to be received To-morrow.
