HL Deb 01 March 1878 vol 238 c530
EARL GRANVILLE

My Lords, seeing the noble Earl the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in his place, I beg to ask him, Whether he has information to give the House with regard to the terms of peace?

THE EARL OF DERBY

My Lords, I have received a statement to the effect that the Treaty of Peace will probably be signed to-morrow. I have also a statement which has reached me from various sources—and I hope there can be no doubt of its accuracy—-that the demand for the cession of the Turkish Fleet has been withdrawn.
