Clause 10 (Reservation of existing rights of chancellors, surrogates, and registrars, &c.)

Clause amended by inserting "archdeacon, archidiaconal, or decanal officer."

Clause further amended by inserting— ("to receive, so long as he discharges the duties of his office, the like sum of money by way of salary as he has received in fees on the average of three years immediately before the first day of January one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two, with payment for such clerks and assistants as may be required for the discharge of his official duties: Provided that the salaries or payments to such clerks and assistants shall not exceed what they have received on the average of three years immediately before the first day of January one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two")
