begged to know of the noble Marquess opposite whether it was the intention of her Majesty's Government to introduce a bill into Parliament in con- formity with the recommendation of the commissioners of inquiry into Turnpike Trusts? The subject was one of considerable importance, and great anxiety was felt in the country respecting it.

The Marquess of Normanby

was not unmindful, he said, of the great interest felt upon the matter alluded to by the noble Marquess, whom he assured that a measure was in preparation to be brought into the other House of Parliament as soon as the great pressure of public business in that department had been got rid of.
