HL Deb 22 July 1836 vol 35 c430
Lord Teynham

wished to take that opportunity of noticing a statement which had appeared in the Morning Post of this day, in which it was asserted, that he was the author of certain paragraphs that had appeared in the Globe newspaper, imputing unfair motives to a noble Marquess, with reference to the proceedings respecting the South Durham Railway Bill. Now, he felt it to be his duty positively to contradict this statement. He had no connexion or communication with newspapers; and, with respect to the Globe, he was not in the habit even of seeing it.
