HL Deb 29 June 1835 vol 29 cc2-3
Lord Farnham

wished to know from the noble Viscount opposite whether it was the intention of the Government to bring in a Bill during the present Session for the regulation of Municipal Corporations in Ireland. He begged to say, that the Report on the subject had only just been printed; that that Report was a very imperfect one, a circuit and a-half being totally omitted; and that at this late period of the Session it would be impossible to consider the whole of the Report, which consisted of above 1,100 pages, so that if a measure was now introduced it would be brought in at the end of the Session, and would be hurried through Parliament at a time when it was quite impossible that its details could be attended to.

Viscount Melbourne

said, that, the important subject mentioned by the noble Lord was under the consideration of the Ministers, and that he certainly hoped to be able to propose some measure on the subject before the end of the Session.
